Accountant VII Needed for a State Agency in Austin
Description of work to be performed:
- Will perform highly advanced (senior-level) complex financial analysis and accounting work under minimal supervision of the Investment Accounting Manager with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent work.
- Assist in planning the annual audit and preparing the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.
- Collect, track, and review audited financial statements and complete valuation checkpoints for audit purposes.
- Prepare reports and assist with the technical and compliance changes for regulatory requirements.

Required Experience and Education
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- Experience may be substituted for education on a year-by-year basis.
- Seven (7) years of relevant and progressively responsible experience in financial analysis or accounting, including experience in automated accounting systems and financial reporting.
- Attainment of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Masters in Business Administration (MBA), or Masters of Public Administration (MPA) will substitute for 2 years of experience
Salary: $49.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
